At 0503 this morning Milton Engine Co was dispatched to a reported house fire. Car 39 arrived on the scene with smoke showing and requested a 2nd alarm for a working fire. The first due engine crew (39-30) arrived and stretched a line into the second floor fire. The crew from 39-10 threw a ladder to the A side porch roof to vent the fire room window. The fire was knocked down within 5 minutes. A resident was transported for a burn to a hand received while closing the bedroom door, which ultimately slowed the growth of the fire. Milton was assisted at the scene by Marlboro, Highland and Mobile Life Support. Red Cross is assisting residents with temporary shelter.
